I have to admit, I was a little wayward in my career choice before I moved to Cincinnati. Now, this does not really mean that I was lost and on the path to desolation, but it meant that I was job hopping and did not really have a true career path. However, when I moved to Cincinnati my life tended to take a noticeable turn because it meant that I was going to be able to get the career started and eventually start my own business in a job field that I never really considered before and that was the job of a leadership recruiter.
Now, you may be asking yourself, what exactly does my job entail. Well, I will give you a quick answer because it is a job that allows me to work with some of the biggest companies in the country and try to target leaders that will fit in their company. Now this may seem like it is a little odd, but think about it like this you get to travel work with companies that pay well and all of your expenses are paid. All you have to do is sit down and talk with people about their aspirations and rate them to see if they are a good fit for a business or not.
Sometimes, I start to wonder if I am recruiting the leaders to a good city or not. However, after I have these doubts I just have to look around at the city and see the improvements they are making on a daily basis. Yes, the crime rates can be slightly high in some neighborhoods, but that is easy to avoid. The key thing is the city has some of the best colleges in the world for kids, schools are top rated, suburbs were recently named as the best place to live and their have even been some talk about the city improving access to foods. Plus, the competition of other leadership recruiting firms in Cincinnati does not appear to be too competitive. That makes the leadership recruitment ideal.
Something else that I really like about recruiting people to Cincinnati is the fact the city always has something going on for people to do. While you may not think about this right away, you need to realize for a city to thrive it needs to have events for people to do. When you are in Cincinnati they have something going on almost every weekend and when their is not something going on in the city, the suburbs are not that far away and they tend to have something going on.
When I was looking for a new career, I knew that it was going to be hard for me to find something that would suit my needs with my limited job skills. This is when I finally decided to look at a job as a recruiter. When I looked at this job and the city I was working in, I knew it was a perfect blend. I would finally be able to get all of the work done I wanted and know it was going to help me advance my career.
